Andrea & I escape to a Fredericksburg Bed & Breakfast August 11th-13th 2011
|
As advertised, Settlers Crossing offers "Seven (7) historic
cottages spread over 35 park-like acres just minutes from
town. Great for a romantic getaway or just family fun".
In addition to the unique accommodations and setting offered
by this B&B, a "featured attraction" of Settlers Crossing for
my wife and myself (as an amateur photographer) was; "The
hill country around Fredericksburg, with its splendid scenery,
rivers, lakes, wineries, scenic drives, and state parks".
Finally, this B&B lists "Privacy" as one of it's main features.
So if your desire is to be continually pampered and coddled
throughout your stay, this will not likely be "your cup of tea".
For Andrea & I (who prefer to be left alone to do our own thing
- when/how we choose) it was perfect!
I would like to thank David and Melissa Estes for a wonderful
getaway! (Or "Adventure" as Andrea and I refer to them)
We'll be back!
Using our trusty "Hill Country" map (below) we took a couple of
scenic drives, stopping occasionally for photo opportunities.

Pioneer Homestead
Kusenberger Log Cabin was
our personal choice for
accommodations. In-part
because it is the oldest cabin
(built in 1850) and to a greater
extent; "because it is the most
remote cabin on the property".

"Brighty" & friend (they was
good people!)
Acting silly (because we felt
like it!:)
Oops Outtake! (do-overs)
Great - I look like Elmer Fudd!!
